The coupler is designed for common SCH 40 ped pole wall thickness, accommodates internal wiring from both directions, and works with both threaded and slip-top bases. What makes it genuinely different from a standard coupling solution is the structural performance: the junction at the coupler exceeds the strength of a typical base-to-pole connection, so the mid-pole joint is never the weak point in the assembly.
