Value & Reliability

Pedestrian Safety and decreasing the spread of germs are at the heart of the Guardian Wave, the latest touchless independent system from Campbell Company.  No longer will pedestrians have to push the same button as countless others.  With easy wiring access and configuration, the Guardian Wave APS has a simple and flexible configuration, and delivers safety, simplicity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness at any intersection.

APS Beacon & BBU

APS Beacon & BBU

Pedestrian beacon communication has reached a whole new level. Campbell Company’s APS Beacon provides intelligent communication to pedestrians crossing the intersection by utilizing audible indications. Please see the Beacon Data Sheet for information on parameters, installation, and features.

Destination Communication

The APS Beacon provides a beacon tone to the pedestrian from a second speaker location near the pedestrian display, aimed towards the center of the crosswalk. The pedestrian is at the initiation point where they place a call at the push button, and the APS Beacon is located at the pedestrian destination point, about 10 feet high where it can broadcast “Walk” and “Clearance” phase tones to the final two-thirds of the crosswalk. Several different “Clearance” phase tones are available including: destination target, alternating (ping pong) tones, audible countdown, and other specifically designated tones.

Independent Station

The Beacon can also function as a Base Broadcast Unit (BBU) to provide important information to assist all pedestrians in crossing the intersection with audible indications when the “Walk Display” is active. The BBU is designed to work in areas where there is no pedestrian activation. In traffic applications, the BBU is mounted to the underside of the pedestrian display. Audible walk indications are broadcast from a position above the pedestrian initiation point during the visual walk display.
