Operating Description: BBU provides and audible tone or message every time the Walk Display is active. Campbell Company developed the Base Broadcast unit to focus the walk cycle signal message or tone directly to the pedestrian crossing initiation point. This reduces the amount of noise affecting the community. The driver mounts in the ped head and broadcasts the walk signal directly to the crosswalk initiation point. Automatic Gain Control algorithms increase or decrease the volume based on ambient noise levels.
Audible:
Walk Cycle message, tells the pedestrian when the Walk Sign is on. Each board has three walk cycle messages; Chirp, Cuckoo, and Custom message
Components:
The BBU consists of two separate components.
The driver board mounts in the ped head and connects to the controller inputs.
An audio unit mounts to the bottom of the ped head, it monitors ambient noise levels at the crossing initiation point. The audio unit also provides the audible outputs
Installation:
No special tools or programming devices are required to install the Advisor.
The driver board installs in the ped head and is connected to the display incoming power.
The audio unit is installed to the bottom of the ped head.
